And the view’s so nice

Walking home last week I cheated a bit and took a path that doesn’t quite go to the summit of Primrose Hill. From this path I saw just a slice of the panoramic view on offer at the top, the city, beautifully framed, it made my day.

Primrose Hill is not just famous for being on my route home. It’s recommended for visitors to London. It has the most spectacular views of central, east and south London. For years one of the paths had a piece of graffiti on it, ”and the view’s so nice” lyrics from a Blur song. The graffiti was famous, it too became a destination for tourists. People would have their picture taken with it instead of the view. People FFS.

Now there’s an official quote carved onto a low wall by the handy map of the view, it reads, ”I have conversed with the spiritual sun. I saw him on Primrose Hill.”

Honestly, William Blake is full of shit sometimes, bring back Blur.
