I saw my friend Toast this week. Toast chose her name because she’s toast, that is she has a terminal cancer. Thus far she has refused to die of it and instead is living with it against all predictions. Long may this continue to be the case.
Toast is also a fashion professional. We talk clothes in a very particular way, it’s all about the technical, we talk the cut, the make, we both like print. We show and tell new clothes but sometimes inside out so we can see exactly what’s going on.
Much like myself she has a non fashion partner.
Toast found her boyfriend watching a dvd, a documentary about Karl Lagerfeld. She wondered why he would be interested in this. As it turned out he thought Karl Lagerfeld was a character being played by Tommy Lee Jones, and was hoping the story would pick up soon.
