The world is one great big classroom. Here’s what I’ve learnt this week.
One.
I really am old.
I was in bed on my birthday by 9.30, I just can’t do early evening champagne anymore and if that doesn’t scream ‘old lady!’ loud enough, someone gave me a gift of scented drawer liners.
Two.
Don’t mess about finding an informative post card of sufficient stiffness to put your cake on. It’s asking for trouble, if you define excessive crumbs as trouble. Use a plate, not a plate substitute. It’s the sensible route, easier in the long run and facilitates more convenient crumb control.
Three.
If the fancy camera that feeds the overhead screen won’t work whatever you do, no matter how many times you reboot the whole system, no matter how many times you check the settings, don’t call technical support until you try removing the lens cap.
I’m sure two and three could be used as analogies for all sorts of life’s problems but I can’t think of any just now.
