I was a little delayed on my commute to work yesterday. The bright sunshine and the presence of a magnifying mirror resulted in extended facial plucking. This morning there were no holdups, I made it directly from bed, to bath, to office (dining table) successfully avoiding the tv, Facebook and the 10x magnifying mirror.
My dress standards for home working have, as I imagined they would, taken a turn for the worse or a turn towards the sloppy, but only from the waist down. I have discovered that it is quite possible to wear a cashmere, cowl neck dress and makeup while also wearing your fathers pyjama trousers and a pair of fluffy slippers. No one would guess on Zoom, Skype or Teams, I know, I’ve used them all today.
I’ve read that incidences of domestic abuse have risen sharply during these few days of isolation but not in our house. We are getting on very well 24/7. However, Cornflake likes to have 24 hour news on tv at least some of the day. Through our mutual confinement I’ve learnt that there isn’t enough news to fill 24 hrs of tv, even at such troubled times as these. I have an inclination to scream after multiple repeats and fillers but I fall short of violence. Cornflake has started servicing his 24 hour news habit on line, wearing headphones to ease my anti repeat news hysteria.
On our daily, allowed, outside exercise we’ve been keeping it local. Yesterday we walked to St Pancras old church. I wanted to show Cornflake the Hardy tree. I was delighted that he’d never seen it even though it’s just around the corner, and, that he was suitably impressed by it’s gothic weirdness. But then everybody is.

I love that tree! You once walked me from a train station, having journeyed from Madeira to Gatwick, to this incredible vision of Gothic spookiness. Can you remember almost taking a stranger by the elbow and guiding them toward the tree saying, ‘don’t just walk on by come and see this’…the tourist was very grateful for the mini
de-TOUR. Not that you’re bossy at all! You just didn’t want him to miss out 😊

Yes it was St Pancras and you said your arse needed to move a bit! I’m always checking people have seen it, especially if they’re taking photos!
