Easter

Easter weekend under lockdown isn’t panning out too badly chez Tart, no shortage of chocolate, or eggs, or chocolate eggs.

There’s quite a lot of news from the zoo, perimeter safari.

7.30am is the perfect time to visit as all of the animals are relaxed having breakfast. This includes the zoo staff having their break in the picnic area. There are very few other people around at that time. I much prefer the park when there are fewer visitors and the current situation allows me to say this aloud without seeming like a selfish tart. I haven’t got around to the dogs yet, they’re just plain scary and I’m not sure I’m in the mood.

There are a couple of fabulous new mosaics outside the entrance. The meerkats have moved, camels are enormous and the monkeys that I really love are gibbons.

I’m beginning to wonder if the gibbons know me, they were very chatty today. Cornflake was with me, perhaps they recognised a kindred spirit.

I’ve been using, possibly overusing, an app that puts 3D wild animals in your room. You can then photograph them. My favourite is a picture of a roaring tiger standing on my cross stitch embroidery instructions, in front of Poirot on TV.

I’m telling you all this as I’d hate for you to think that I was wasting my time during isolation.
