Studio license signed, deposit paid, not handed in my notice on the storage unit yet, but soon. They obviously provide a needed service, by me in particular recently, but it’s hard to put into words how much I have resented the dead cost of that storage unit. Honestly, if I wasn’t attached to much of the contents, some bits being actually irreplaceable, I could have bought it all new with the money I’ve spent on the rent.
That is an exaggeration, but if it had gone another 6 months it would almost not be. It’s something I’ve been stewing about while the studio search was slow.
I’m getting all nostalgic for the park, in anticipation of it not being on route to work, or accessible every work day. It’s a good time to love the park, it’s been raining, when it’s raining, I own it. Me and a couple of soggy dogs and their damp walkers.
My new studio is in the opposite direction to the park, and all of my work routes since 1986, or ever, come to think of it.
A new direction, now that’s a poetic start.
The huge formal displays in the avenue gardens are amongst my favourite bits of the park. Sometimes I think that if a had a small garden and lots of time, I could just make it into one entire garden sized pot and do this..
