Parrot?

The working week is multi various at the moment. I’m working from home for computer work, studio when I need the big table and machinery. I’ll be teaching from one place or another over the coming weeks or from the university or whatever, wherever.

I’ve just bought a printer, digital print direct to fabric. It’s the most expensive thing I’ve ever bought other than a new car. Its an investment. An optimistic leap at a new business. I’m sure I’ll make my money back, if only offering a service printing pictures of pets on tea towels. I have bigger, more glamorous ambitions obviously.

I’ve had to completely rearrange my workspace to accommodate it.

It is enormous.

It arrived on a pallet, in a crate. A day early. It was too big to get in the door to the studio building. It had to be unpacked in the street, hoping that the crate was full of packing a la Amazon packages, and the item itself would be within the required dimensions. We have two main security men at the studios, both of them have names beginning with L. Le Lu, Double L. Lu was on duty, he got his screw driver, BelVita got her hammer. Maison M and GorJus were on hand too. A spectacular, masked, group effort. Out of the crate, a lovely thing in itself, the contents just fitted through the door. Thank goodness the lift was working or that printer would still be on the staircase, next to my corpse.

Dramatic, exciting.

I was telling Saucy on the phone. At first she was suitably horrified. She gasped in all the right places, until she realised it was, a pallet and a crate that I was talking about. Not as she had mis-heard, a parrot in a crate.

She was disappointed and now so am I.
