Temperate

So much warmer today, still cold, but not below freezing and I’m delighted..

Yes, dear reader, we are approaching that seemingly small window of time between me ceasing to complain that the weather is too cold and starting to complain that it’s too hot.

Last week BelVita swore that she would never again complain about excessive heat.

I make no such promise.

Before the weather heats up I could make do with being dissatisfied about excess or lack of rain. I should get fully prepared. No, not prepared to moan. Honestly. Prepared for a wet Spring, so that I don’t have the need to complain. I gave my efficient rain jacket to Cornflake for use on his bike. This means I’m in need of a waterproof something if I’m going to continue walking here, there, and everywhere.

I’ve found a waterproof cape online that can also double up as a ground sheet or a tent. My love of camping equipment may have skewed my search. I’m not sure that’s the direction I should be taking stylistically.

GorJus has a black cape and thinks she looks like an operatic demon on a push bike. I’m unsure that I can muster that much drama on a wet walk to work.

I’m thinking of asking the very dapper twins who inhabit the streets around Holborn circus where their water proof capes came from . I know something about these men because they are famous. They’re known as The Islington Twins, I suggest you google them, they are identical, handsome, immaculate and homeless. I’ve been told that they don’t like the term homeless, they prefer to say they live on the street.

They are a conundrum, I am very curious, not just about where their capes came from. I haven’t spoken to them yet although I’ve seen them almost daily for six months. I don’t want to be invasive….but their capes are really good.
