Power play

I’m advertisement irritated.

Passive aggressive, beautiful, soft talking, simpering, celebs spouting so called empowering shite. What a croc.

What she says about the gold plated face shaver:

Be yourself

Be flawless

What she’s actually saying:

Don’t be hairy or have any flaws. To be really clear all you women out there, don’t dare be hairy bitches….or have imperfections.

Here’s what I say:

Shave, pluck, wax, trim, all of that, or none of it, or a bit of one or the other.

Your call.

How’s that for power?

I’ve just read an ad for an underwear item, a girdle by another name. Empowering apparently. I say, wear one or don’t, your power is not reliant on a gut busting knicker or even how strapped and lifted your tits are.

Flat tummies and pert breasts are great, but not essential.

Don’t listen to those purveyors of insecurities and users of cliched, platitudes.

Empowerment means…

….to give power or authority to, to authorise, to enable or permit.

Pants and shavers won’t give you power or permission, unless you give them the power first and permission to wield it.

Be careful that they don’t have power over you rather than the other way around.

Who’s the boss?

You are.

Must go, I’ve got plucking to do and those giant brassieres of mine won’t wash themselves.

Don’t bother being flawless, be a bit Marlene.
