*Ken and his dog Cash are in the studio often. Ken is American. Em is also American, They may be overly influencing me. I struggle to say tomato correctly and I’ve been on the verge of saying ‘awesome’ a couple of times recently.
*It was suggested at some point that I have little respect for authority. It’s hard for me to deny it. Our current government and world leaders are not examples that are likely to convince me to adjust my attitude.
*I was about to send an email announcing that a housekeeping job was completed. I told the other person involved with the task that I was going to message ‘ok mate, all done’. Weirdly they asked how I’d spell ‘mate’. I said, f.u.c.k.e.r. They were horrified. I was proud that someone thought I might address my work place landlord so.
*I’ve been revisiting my spy obsession. I’ve been watching ‘The Pigeon Tunnel’. It’s a movie length interview with John Le Carre. He seems charming, clever, entertaining and I wish I’d known him. Totally unlikely, even if you remove the barrier of his dead status. He was, he says, perfect spy material. A bit bad, but loyal, went to the right schools. Could I have been a spy? Ken wanted to know, ignoring my state education, Polytechnic Art degree and complete lack of appropriate connections.
What makes you sure I’m not?
