A cautionary tale

I’d had a reasonably eventful week, but all has been overshadowed by a second hand family tale. I had several ideas for the title of this borrowed blog entry.

A moral tale, Victim of crime, In praise of feisty girls.

The story in short is this;

Two of the Goodly sisters got into a fight on the way home from a comedy gig.

I’ll start again, a couple of my great nieces were attacked after an evening out.

A man grabbed one of them from behind, dragging her backwards by her hair. Her sister, in an effort to stop him, pushed her hand into his face, he bit her. Somehow he and sister two ended up on the pavement. She therefore needed help, first sister kicked attacker in the head and they got away.

I salute them.

The caution referred to in the title, may be caution required on the part of a man who would attack two girls, who knows to what end. When planning to attack pretty, well groomed, young women, try to establish what level of feisty they are, on a scale of Snow White to Arya Stark perhaps. If they tend towards the Ms Stark end of the spectrum you may well find yourself the victim of your own crime.

Or this tale could be a cautionary reminder to women that when out and about, you may need to be ready to get your Arya on and kick fuckers in the head. As and when required for your personal protection and the safety of friends and relatives of course, even I wouldn’t encourage this as recreation.

I recognise that not all heroes are street fighters, the third Goodly sister was busy helping to take care of her very poorly grandma.

Could their name be more apt?
