Wheels

The title may be making you think this epistle is going to be about cars.

You, sadly, are thinking youthfully or like a bloke.

I am talking about wheelie shoppers.

Mine is worn out.

Yes, that’s right, I’m onto my second wheelie shopper.

I used it mostly for transporting heavy pattern cutting books and equipment. Equipment that is notoriously pointy and ruins much it comes in contact with, bags especially.

I was considering making a black leather bag to replace the navy vinyl, or a cream canvas one with brown leather trim. A bag that could be used on the wheel frame or without. I hesitate in case this is an act of desperation. I can’t imagine that any amount of good quality leather or tasteful luggage fabrication combos are going to elevate the wheelie shopper to fashion status.

Browsing on line I was taken with the six wheeled stair climber options and noted, for future reference, that some models can morph into a seat if you should feel the need to take the weight off your feet while getting the groceries in.

However, even I, who really doesn’t mind old lady status, feels that at present, this is unnecessary.

What I’ve gone for is a hold-all type bag with wheels. Essentially it’s a wheelie shopper but aesthetically it manages to say, international traveller, not pensioner.

I’ve probably/definitely over egged the glamour aspect of the international travel my new bag would be appropriate for in this picture. I couldn’t bring myself to draw a cabin locker on a bargain airline plane.
